Women in LESNW: Inspiring Leadership through Shared Stories
Women aspiring to grow in their leadership practice came together to connect and hear the stories of 12 women in leadership roles within LESNW, who shared their journeys of growth through the lens of the Growing Deep leadership capabilities.
Feedback from participants about the day included the following:
“The honesty and vulnerability shown by the presenters was powerful. They brought a raw, genuine presence to the space — something I’ve never experienced before. To be surrounded by a community of women, connected not only through our work in education but through such shared authenticity, was deeply moving. I thought leaders had it all together and the fact I don’t feel like I do and have a lot of the time imposter syndrome - when in reality we are all doing our best in this beautiful life we have been given. Maybe the leadership chairs that I don’t see myself sitting in are a possibility in the future.”
“Hearing from current leaders their 'origin stories' and how their different experiences have shaped their views on leadership and their roles.”
“Hearing raw and authentic stories and visions from other women in leadership. I appreciated the vulnerability of each leader and their capacity to share the challenges and celebrations of their leadership journey.”
“The variety of guest speakers, yet there were common threads that tied them all together.”
“The thread that was revisited time and time again, relationships - the networking from today (in journaling, in discussions, morning tea and lunch), hearing the historical link between speakers and the clear positive, strong impact these networks have had personally and professionally, and the reference of better together.”
