Legal and HR Advice Update
Over the last couple of years, Lucie Lawrence-Wall has provided both an LESNW Regional Office funded Hot Desk service, and as desired, specific/in detail individual learning community funded advice.
Lucie has recently informed me that from December 2024 to September 2025, she will be taking a period of maternity and parenting leave. We are excited for and wish Lucie all the best as she looks forward to the birth of her child. In her absence, this service will continue as it has previously, with an experienced member of the Piper Alderman team, Emily Slaytor, undertaking the role Lucie has so expertly and professionally outworked.
Emily joined Piper Alderman as a Special Counsel in 2021 after having relocated back to Adelaide from Sydney where she had been working for a number of Sydney-based firms, and a specialist employment law firm. She has over 12 years’ experience practicing as an employment and industrial relations lawyer, which also encompasses the interpretation and application of Enterprise Agreements.
Emily has provided advice in a wide range of areas, including bullying and harassment matters and internal employment disputes, and she has extensive experience in the areas of managing long and short-term injured workers, difficult workers compensation claims, sensitive performance management and disciplinary issues, discrimination and harassment, as well as unfair dismissal and general protections claims.
Lucie’s last day of work before taking leave will be 28 November 2024.
Contact with Emily can be made by telephone at (08) 8205 3375 or 0499 558 122, or by email at eslaytor@piperalderman.com.au.
Learning communities can obviously also continue to access the relative support for the AIS in your State/Territory.
