Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)
Dear Learning Communities,
Some of you may have come across the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), a company that offers training in effective techniques to de-escalate behaviour. Please see below for more information regarding upcoming training available in Adelaide and Perth this June.
Safety Intervention (previously MAPA) Foundation Instructor Certification
This is a 3 day in-class course covering both verbal and physical de-escalation techniques. Participants can attend one of our Open sessions – dates for upcoming sessions are outlined below.
In the course, participants will learn simple and effective behaviour assessment and decision-making skills to ensure escalated behaviour is avoided. With a focus on prevention, it teaches staff de-escalation skills as well as independently risk assessed, non-restrictive and restrictive interventions to ensure the Care, Welfare, Safety, and Security of those in your care. On completion of the course, you will become a certified instructor for you to then train other staff within your base of employment.
Your instructor licence is then valid for 1 year.
MONTH | DATES | CITY | Programme Type | VENUE |
