People are Awesome
The smart TV at home has a dedicated internet TV channel called ‘People are Awesome’ I can lose a lot of time watching amazing people do amazing things!
It’s not just the Samsung TV that features awesome people, you’ve only got to look into our learning communities. Various communications have been forwarded to principals over recent weeks, acknowledging some shift and change across our ranks. Here’s a summary in one place. I encourage your prayers and collegiality for these awesome people.
Karen Leese has resigned her position at St John’s Lutheran School Eudunda. We give thanks for the gift Karen has been to that community and celebrate with her the opportunity for some world travel and reconnection with past acquaintances. Every blessing to the appointed co-leaders, Shelly Schield and Renee Ruediger.
Our thoughts are with Daryl Trigg who concludes his service to Immanuel Lutheran School Gawler at the close of the term. After 39 years of service to Lutheran Education, we recognise the significant mix of emotions associated with preparing to farewell a community and career.
Paula Skinner, currently seconded to Bower Schools, has resigned as principal of Our Saviour Lutheran School Aberfoyle Park, after 14 years of principalship across two learning communities. Congratulations to Cassie Pech who has been endorsed to continue to the learning community.
Rebecca Clements has announced her resignation as principal of Immanuel Primary Novar Gardens after 8 years in the role, for new challenges abroad in 2026. We think of Bec as the board engages at this time, in the recruitment process.
Within the regional office, there is some awesomeness too.
We pray that Craig and Celia Fielke enjoy both the adventures of, and the change of pace, that long service leave brings. Craig will return to the Executive Director role on Monday 15 September.
David Wilksch is your point of contact for matters that would generally be directed to the Executive Director.

Welcome to Brian Earl, appointed as Finance Consultant following the retirement of Lindy Yeatmann. Brian commenced in the role on Monday this week.
Megan Fitzallen will soon ‘grow the family’ and begin a period of maternity leave. In Megan’s absence, Joyleen Leaney will assume the role of Risk and Compliance Officer.
While nothing changes for Renee Wehner (Education Leader) on the LESNW front, she will also serve LEA through a 12-month secondment to support the writing of the Christian Studies curriculum.
