Empathy to Impact: A Shared Learning Journey
Earlier this month, over 30 passionate educators came together at Immanuel Lutheran College from across LESNW to participate in the Empathy to Impact workshop—a dynamic and purpose-driven two-day event facilitated by Inspire Citizens. This hands-on professional learning experience empowered participants to reimagine unit planning through the Empathy to Impact framework, aligning deeply with the attributes of Free to Flourish—cultivating learners who are compassionate, relational, purposeful, and adventurous.
With a clear focus on designing meaningful, globally-connected units of work, educators left with practical, ready-to-go plans and a renewed sense of purpose. The workshop was also a celebration of cross-school collaboration, with teams engaging in co-creation, feedback, and rich professional dialogue across contexts.
We were especially thankful for the presence of leaders from Lutheran Services—ALWS, Lutheran Care, Lutheran Aged Care, and Lutheran International Mission—who brought valuable insights to help strengthen the connection between schools and service organisations. This partnership model demonstrates what it means to live out Free to Flourish together, building stronger links between learning and action.
