ACEL SA Educational Leadership Award
The ACEL SA Educational Leadership Award honours those who have shown excellent leadership in education in a school, system, or sector. The criteria for this award are consistent with those described in the ACEL Leadership Capabilities, acknowledging those who have demonstrated a commitment beyond their current role. Capabilities include high level educational outcomes for self and others, and the ability to inspire, influence, and implement change in an innovative manner. Leadership medallists are acknowledged by their colleagues, students and community for their outstanding leadership and achievements for a school, sector or system.
Dr. Kylie Booker, Director of Library and Innovation at Immanuel College, is a distinguished leader in gifted education and a practicing psychologist. She played a pivotal role in establishing the Once Upon a Time Festival, South Australia’s largest youth literacy event, engaging over 6,500 students through inspiring book talks and interactive workshops. With a Doctorate in Education and a Master’s in Psychology, Kylie has extensive experience in diverse learning, having served as Head of Diverse Learning and previously as Deputy Principal in Malaysia. Her vision has transformed the College Library into a vibrant hub for learning, making a lasting impact on students and the community.

ACEL SA presents this award to emerging educational leaders in their first 5 years of a designated leadership position: they have demonstrated outstanding educational practice in the classroom and leadership that has made a significant difference to colleagues and students.
Stephanie Kriewaldt is the Principal of Lobethal Lutheran School, leading with innovation, vision, and a commitment to student-centred learning. With over 18 years in education, she has pioneered Beyond Outdoor Learning, a nationally recognised program integrating wellbeing, sustainability, and experiential education.
Stephanie has received multiple state and national education awards and is a published author, conference speaker, and mentor. She fosters a collaborative professional learning culture, supporting educators through mentoring, sector networking, and professional development initiatives.
Under her leadership, Lobethal Lutheran School has achieved outstanding academic results, strengthened community partnerships, and become a model for contemporary education.
