Board Development Workshop at Concordia College
Concordia College paves the way for a strategic future.
In a recent Board Development Workshop, Concordia College’s Board and Executive team gathered to lay foundational groundwork for the College’s next Strategic Plan in 2026.
Facilitated by governance expert Graeme Huf, the workshop took a forward-looking approach to Concordia’s future, with discussions focused on guiding the College’s direction over the next 5 to 10 years. Presentations were guided by department input from Finance, Community Relations, Human Resources, Facilities, Learning and Innovation. The agenda was shaped by key findings from the 2023 Bleckly Report, which raised crucial questions about Concordia’s current size, structure and growth trajectory. With many of the report’s recommendations already implemented, the workshop served as an opportunity to dig deeper into what Concordia’s ideal size and structure might look like.
Through a high-level and holistic approach, four critical segments were examined to support Concordia’s continued mission and vision. Framed by four essential questions: ranging from the concept of an extraordinary student experience to infrastructure priorities over the next five years—participants engaged in dynamic discussions to chart a strategic path forward. Together, the Board and College Executive considered the necessary improvements in teaching and learning, along with assessing optimal growth that will sustain Concordia’s unique learning environment.
This collaborative development day represents a pivotal moment in Concordia’s future planning, setting the stage for impactful decisions that will shape the college for years to come.
