Governance Corner
At our last board meeting, Steve Sanders provided an update on the work he has been involved with as Project and Operations Director.
Steve is involved in many areas of the organisation, ranging from system wide initiatives, school based and regional office projects.
Some of the current projects are:
- Marketing and Communications Strategy
- Early Childhood project
- Shared Services for risk and compliance
- NAVIGATE survey and rubric
It was great to gain an understanding of the many initiatives that the regional office are involved in which will have a positive benefit and impact for the region moving forward.
While there are some great initiatives happening throughout the region, we also share the sorrow in the closing of St John’s Eudunda at the end of the year. For 121 years, St Johns have provided a Christian Education to the families of Eudunda and surrounding regions. The care, compassion and love shown to families during this time is immeasurable, and I thank God for the faithful service and dedication of everyone who has had a part in the life of the school. The regional office is working hard to provide the necessary support to students, families and staff as they transition over the coming months.
“Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.” (Romans 12:15) This command, found in Paul‘s letter to the Romans, emphasizes the importance of sharing in both the joys and sorrows of others within the community, demonstrating sincere love and unity. As a community of Learning Communities, I feel that this is where we shine. Please join with me in praying for those who have been impacted.
