For people new to board membership in LESNW learning communities who want to:

• meet others who are also commencing a governance role in LESNW
• learn about the Australian not-for-profit governance landscape
• understand how LESNW learning communities fit within the wider Lutheran Church of Australia environment
• understand what is required of them as a board member
• ask questions

The session will unpack:

• what governance is and what it isn’t
• the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission Governance Standards
• the Australian Institute of Company Directors Not-for-Profit Governance Principles
• what makes an effective board member
• common boardroom mistakes
• the importance of local context and knowledge

 

This 2-hour session is available on three occasions. Participants need register for one date only. A Teams link will be provided upon registration
