LLL Bursaries Make a World of Difference

LLL Australia is committed to bringing the Word of God to life for Lutheran schools across the country. Through School Bursary Grants, LLL aims to assist as many students as possible in gaining a Lutheran education when they might have previously been precluded due to financial hardship.

A total of $1 million has been committed to supporting students through this program between 2021 to 2027. Applications for the School Bursary Grant program are available through the LESNW office. Students, parents, and teachers have recently shared their stories of how the LLL Bursary Grants have made a meaningful difference to the lives of students.

One student said recently:
I am really grateful that I had the opportunity to get a bursary. Without that bursary, I wouldn’t be able to attend and go to this College. This school has been a really great support system for me. I’m also involved in the dance troupe, and I love it…I also made some great friends at school and wouldn’t change it for anything.
Being awarded this scholarship last year has changed my life, and I’m determined to make the most of this chance to succeed and graduate with honours in the future.

This parent details how her son has benefitted from his time at a Lutheran College:
The College has helped him successfully transition from a child into a mature younger person… the LLL Bursary has had a positive effect on my son being able to attend the College. Without the Bursary, affordability to attend this school would be impossible.

Teachers have shared positive reflections of students in receipt of an LLL Bursary Grants, and their valuable contribution to their school communities:
This student encompasses the values of the College in her everyday interactions. She’s inclusive, friendly, helpful, and proactive. She reached out to staff members to help her apply for Student Representative Council representation this year and was successful – 2 years in a row!

These three unique and inspirational stories are a testament to the valuable support of LLL’s depositors and borrowers. Through their missional support, LLL can continue to provide Lutheran Education Australia with Bursary Grants, development loans and other philanthropic grants.

As the current economic climate creates even more barriers for families, LLL remains committed to supporting schools with Bursary Grants to allow as many students as possible to seek a Lutheran education.

On a related matter, LLL have again rewarded depositors for their missional support by increasing the interest rates on all deposit accounts in August. The deposits invested with LLL enable us to support the important work of Lutheran Schools across the country, just like yours – for which we are extremely grateful.

The following deposit interest rates took effect Monday, 14 August 2023 and are subject to change:

*A $10,000 minimum opening deposit is required.
